Description
I really think people who are afraid of this material to cut, don’t really understand what it is. Chrysotile is used in the making of Asbestos. This is pure Chrysotile. It accounts for less than 1% cause to people getting sick with mesothelioma. There is nothing to be afraid of with this material when its in this form. If you were to grind it up into powder and keep it in a bowl next to your bed, then yes. I would worry. Wearing it in jewelry would not be the same what so ever. This piece has a bright flash and is very nice pleasing shape.
Make sure to click on the “Additional Information” tab to see size and girdle height.
Visit my Sold cabochon Gallery to see past opals I have cut. You will find other examples of materials, shapes, sizes, colors, and in general see my work there. Some stones date back over 15 years in there. I don’t show everything I cut, just the ones I really liked over the years. Please let me know if you have any questions about those materials.
Its also important to visit your local rockclub if you have one near by. Its a
great place to start if you are new to gems and minerals. Thank you.
